"The Even path"


The course of the journey:  15 days

Location of the journey: Cherskj mountains, Serechen river, Rassokha river, Yasachnaja river

Program of the journey

Day 1 : Arrive in Yakutsk, flight to Zyryanka, accomodation in hotel, rest.
Day 2 : Flight towards Cherskij mountain range by helicopter, to the mouth of the Tinnyak river, where the trekking starts (100 km west of Zyryanka).
The Even guides conduct the trip on horseback or with reindeer.
Day 3/4 : On foot or on horseback along the Bulkut river, the distance covered during the day will be 13 km.
at the end of the 4th day it is scheduled the arrival at Serechen lake ( 900 mt slm ), rest.
Day 5 : Rest, Malma fishing can be organized ( max 1,5 kg ) which can be found in the deepest part of the lake.
There is also the possibility of mountain climbing up to 1600 mt.
Day 6/7 : On foot or on horseback along the Serechen river , during the day the distance covered will be 12 km.
at the end of the 7th day arrival at the Rassokha river, overnight stay.
Day 8 : Rafting on the Rassokha river. At the end of the day arrival at the mouth of the Bulkut river and overnight 
stay in the beauty of the picturesque panorama of ice.
Day 9 : Rest, fishing for Grayling ( max 1 kg ) , Lenok ( max 3-4 kg ). In this area it is possible to see snow sheep.
Day 10 : Rafting, fishing and overnight stay at the mouth of the Yaksha river.
Day 11 : Rafting, fishing and overnight stay at the mouth of the Mommot river.
Day 12 : Motor rafting , to the arrival of Yasachnaja river where we will arrive at the end of the day.
arrive at the village “ UKAGIRE” of Nelemnoe, visit to the local museum , rest and overnight stay.
Day 13 : Rafting at the Yasachnaja river and at the end of the day arrival at Zyryanka. Accomodation in hotel, rest.
Day 14 : During the morning a visit to the local museum and in the afternoon departure for Yakutsk.

Information about the route

The journey will start at the mouth of the Tinnyak river, after having reached this point by helicopter. Tourists on horseback or with reindeer will meet the Even guides , who will be waiting for you .Meals , tents sleeping bag, and all the necessary equipment will be transported by horse and reindeer.

Accomodation will be in tents, and with a cook in service. A generator will provide electrical currents for the requirements of the turists. A helicopter will take all the equipment for rafting to the mouth of the Serechen river for the start of the journey.

At this point of the trip (with horses and reindeer), the number of guides will be decided by the number of peoples in each group, and international communications will be assured by satellitar telephone.

The trip will be carried out as much as possible in completely natural surroundings, in places totally uninhabitated without any kind of industries.

The Rassokha river is a left tributary of the Yasachnaja river, and this at the same time flows into the kolyma river, the ice-cap melts at the end of May and freezes half way through October. After about 10 km you enter into a canyon where the water is not quite so calm, you can also see waves up to 1,50 mt high for distances of 15 km, so we ask you to wear good clothing for the rain.
At the beginning of the river, the bacin goes down to 2,73 mt/km and ends at 0,55mt/km near the mouth.

Only in the area between the Yaksha river and Bulkut river it reaches 3,28mt /km. In the zone of the mouth of Serechen river the main obstacles are some rocks where the water level is lower.
The flow of the water and the obstacles depends of the level of the water, that can change depending on the rainfall.

At the mouth of the Bulkut river you can see an enorms ice-cap ( max 1,50 mt deep ). Going down the Yaksha river to the mouth you enter into the Rassokha river, which flows into the kolyma river, once you have arrived here finally the water will be much calmer.

Along the embankmants and on the banks of the river there is the presence of larchsand poplars, instead moving along towards the valley, the vegetation disappears to the taiga.

Day 12th/13th The waters in this area permits motor–rafting, and during the trip crossing the mountains you can see animal like snow sheep, brown bear, which aren’t dangerous in this period of the year.
Going further down the river you can see animals like glutton, elks, wild deers and many species of geese.
In the Rassokha river you can fly-fish :

Grayling (up to 0,70 kg , sometimes up to 1,5 kg)
Salmon  (Lenok from to 2-6 kg)


The zone between the mouth of the Tinnyak river and the village of Nelemnoe is uninhabitated, while the course of lake Serechen to the Serechen river you can see the only chalk factory. In the lake it is possible to fish Malma, a very rare fish.
